Welcome to our home on the web!
Regatta has been an ASCA registered kennel name since 1996; prior to that we were known as Justabout Australian Shepherds. We are a small mother/daughter program originating out of Delafield, WI that is now split between Kingsland, Texas, and Waterloo, Iowa.
We compete with our dogs in conformation, obedience, agility, and stock. We strive for beautiful dogs that are versatile. The health of our dogs is of utmost concern to us and we make all efforts not to further any genetic maladies in the breed. Our dogs live in our homes with us and are socialized constantly - these are not kennel dogs. Each puppy born into our care is given individual attention and training.
~~~ Our dogs are bred to the ASCA Breed Standard. ~~~
~~~ All of our dogs/puppies are sold on contract and guaranteed. ~~~
~~~ All of our dogs are up to date medically. ~~~
ASCA Statement on Proposed Legislation:
The Australian Shepherd Club of America will not condone the policy of any individual, group, or proposed legislation which advocates restricting the breeding, showing, training, and/or exhibiting of the Australian Shepherd or any other domesticated animal. The Australian Shepherd Club of American does not condone the proposed restrictions to the practice of tail docking or removal of dewclaws for cosmetic or health reasons. We find this policy to be a detriment to the welfare of the Australian Shepherd breed as a whole and an infringement on the rights of the owners, breeders, trainers, and exhibitors of all domesticated animals. The Australian Shepherd Club of America will educate its members of any proposed legislation which may ill affect the welfare of the breed and its guardians, the breeders, owners, trainers, and exhibitors.
ASCA Statement on "Miniature Aussies":
The Miniature Australian Shepherd, North American Shepherd, North American Miniature Australian Shepherd, and/or Toy Australian Shepherd breeds are not recognized as a variety of Australian Shepherd by ASCA. The club considers such dogs to be a distinct and separate breed and will not accept them into its registry.
