HarkenCH Beauwood's MasterCraft CGC STDsd
It is with a sad heart that we say goodbye to a very important part of the Regatta family... on November 26th, 2010. Once you met Harken, you never forgot him. He was always barking, always grinning, always licking, always happy and full of life. He was ever ready and willing to do all that you asked of him and more. He taught us patience, humility, and to have a sense of humor in everything that we do. He always kept us on our toes and Kalla got to where she did in Junior Showmanship because of lessons learned through him. He loved to bark - many people knew him as Barkin' Harken. He loved the water and he used to stand on the edge of the pier and bark relentlessly before he jumped in, filled to the brim with excitement. He loved to fetch and catch the Frisbee - he also loved a broken hula-hoop that my brother used to swing him around on. Harken was a food hound - he used to stick his nose in the crack of the door and blow out, making a loud noise, whenever he deemed it dinner time. Harken was well known for his ability to display the Aussie grin. Harken was one of the most beautiful dogs we have ever known. He was stunning, inside and out. He was our good boy for 13 wonderful years and, though things got rough for him at the end of his life, we will always remember him for his gentle soul. |
EnsignHighrail Regatta's Ahoy Headstrong
Ensign was one of the sweetest pups to come to Regatta. We got her and her brother, Sawyer, out of a litter we co-bred with Highrail Aussies. She was very correct and had a great deal of potential. While staying with her new owner (Laura Liebenow of Headstrong Aussies) in Greenfield, Massachusetts, she was left alone and suffocated to death with her head in a snack bag. It is a very sad and tragic incident and one that reminds us all to be vigilant and to keep a watchful eye on our pups. |
WickiATCH Krossfire's Nagawicka RS-E, GS-E, JS-E
Wicki is sweet little girl and we certainly loved her when she lived with us. She is gorgeous and has a sweet temperament. Unfortunately, it just wasn't the right time in our lives for Wicki to stay with us and so she went to live with Jason and Pamela Meeks. Wicki attached herself to Jason and they have been training and competing in agility together. She is very happy! |
KiraLegends Whisper In the Night CDX RS-E GS-E JS-E JJ-E
Kira was a total blast! She was trained and competed in conformation, obedience, agility, and stock. She was bossy, opinionated, controlling, and hilarious - typical Aussie! After Kira retired from showing we placed her with the Chylla family in Wisconsin. Kira was currently the only dog in the household and got treated like a complete princess - just like she always wanted! She recently passed away, leaving behind many broken hearts. Thank you Terese for giving Kira such a great home. |
FourCH Legends Quarter Master CD STDs DNA-VP
Four was a once-in-a-lifetime dog. He and Betty bonded deeply and the loss of him is still hard to bear. Everyone who met Four instantly fell in love with him. He was stunning to look at and very correct, with flawless movement. A judge once commented that you could "balance a teacup" on his topline while he moved - no rolling there! Four was awarded Reserve Winners Dog at the ASCA Nationals in Georgia under SBJ Victoria Mistretta - it was quite an honor. Four was on the fast track to a successful career when he tragically took ill. He was diagnosed with inflammatory bowel syndrome and we put him to sleep soon after. He is missed so very much by us all. |
CodyLegend's Wind Talker
Cody is a really great dog, but he just wasn't the right fit for our home. He trained for competition in conformation and obedience, and did a small amount of competition. He now lives with John on a huge Angus ranch in Kentucky - and he is loving it! Cody has really bonded with John and fit right into the farm life. He is certainly a happy boy there! |
EleGodspeeds Fifth Element
Ele was Kalla's heart and soul dog - best friends from the start. Kalla and Ele bonded while Ele was just a few weeks old and their relationship grew stronger every day. Ele was a slow-maturing, but beautiful girl who showed a great deal of potential. She trained for competition in conformation, obedience, agility, and stock - Kalla had plans to debut her in all venues at the 2003 ASCA in Junior Showmanship. Kalla also had plans to breed Ele in 2003. The feeling of loss that her passing caused is still present at Regatta. She is greatly missed. |
KevlarCH Legends Kevlar DNA-VP
Kevlar was one of our most favorite dogs at Regatta. He finished his ASCA Championship quickly and was an incredibly handsome and correct dog. Kevlar had a great deal of drive and was always eager to go to work or play. He was an excellent partner for Kalla in the Junior Showmanship ring. We placed Kevlar because we wanted a different focus for our breeding program. Kevlar lived the remainder of his life with Amy Rogers and her family in Houston, Texas. They competed with him in conformation and flyball, as well as with her son in Junior Showmanship, but he is mostly a family dog. |
TillyLtd Editions Matilda Bay
Tillie was our family's first Aussie. We could not have asked for a better first Aussie to have! She was simply amazing. Tillie successfully competed in conformation (she was major pointed in ASCA and AKC) and in obedience. As Kalla's first Junior Showmanship dog, Tillie was instrumental in the formation of Kalla's abilities and knowledge. She whelped 3 litters and was a very tolerant mother. Tillie lived a long and happy life with us. It is unfortunate that we did not complete Tillie's training and titles. Something I did not have when I started out was a good mentor; and I cannot express enough the importance of acquiring a good "mentor" if you are starting out in any breed. A good mentor will guide you thru the world of dogs and all its in's and out's. Ask around. There are many good mentors out there. I would also be happy to help you find a good one..just ask. |
FancyJay Mars Fancy Girl
Fancy was truly an awesome dog. She was sound of body and mind and was responsible for producing some of the coolest dogs that have been at Regatta. (Again, a good mentor would have been very useful in furthering her career. Its not always about 'breeding' litters.) Fancy competed successfully in conformation (she was major pointed in AKC and ASCA). Fancy was Betty's father's favorite dog and he put it best when he simply referred to her as "a good pooch." |
